“반가워.” 또는 “반가웠어.”라고 인사하고 싶을 땐 보통 다음과 같이 표현해요. “nice” 자리에는 “good”, “great” 등 다양한 표현들을 사용할 수 있답니다.
- 누군가를 처음 만났을 때 → Nice to meet you.
- 처음 만난 사람과 헤어질 때 → Nice meeting you.
- 알던 사람을 다시 만났을 때 → Nice to see you.
- 아는 사람과 헤어질 때 → Nice seeing you.
참고로, 만날 땐 “to meet”과 “to see”가, 헤어질 땐 “meeting”과 “seeing”이 더 일반적으로 사용된다는 것이지 꼭 그렇게 표현해야 한다는 것은 아니에요.

“반가워.” 또는 “반가웠어.”라는 인사에 “나도.”라고 답하려면 다음과 같이 표현해요.
- 인사 끝에 “too”나 “as well”을 붙여서 표현(보통, “too” 앞에는 콤마를 붙여줌)
- 간단히 “You, too.”, “Same here.” 또는 “Likewise.”라고 표현(“You, too.”는 보통 “너도.”라는 뜻으로 사용되지만, 반갑다는 인사에 대한 대답으로 사용될 때는 “나도.”라는 뜻이 됨)
